And outsiders are not easily invited into the group – in all instances except one over the years, if someone starts dating a new person, they leave the group rather than bringing that new person in, and then return to the group if the relationship ends (or in one girls case, continue playing with the group in secret even after five years of marriage when we all get together once a year, calling it a “girls weekend,” and hiding the fact that the guys from the group are there).
